8 Easy Ways to Make Your Home Green.

Home Depot is leaning more and more towards the green side of things and I’m one of a few bloggers that was chosen to write my experience with a few of their products.

I hope you’ll support them and send the message that green is the way to go!

It seems in light of our Earth disasters, complete chaos has broken loose; yet in times of crisis it’s important to remember that little things can make a big difference. Even a drip of water on a canyon wall eventually causes great change in the structure of that canyon over time. We’re all little drips in the scheme of our planet.

How will you make a difference in our future? Here are 8 small ways to make a big difference in the world around us.

1. It may seem obvious to some; but ditching your car for the bus, train, car pool or bike not only reduces emissions and the need for ga$oline, but also contributes to cardiovascular health. Riding a bike is obviously a good choice for your health, yet I’m betting that you didn’t realize interactions with strangers as well as car pool friends stimulates a part of the brain that would otherwise be dormant on a solo drive commute. Might as well show up to work stimulated right?

2. Buy local products whenever possible. Shopping for local produce, honey, and other food sources not only reduces the fuel cost associated with out of state food transport; but also supports the local economy.

3. In case you’ve been under a rock for the last 20 years, it’s time to ditch your garden poisons in favor of organic and sweat labor solutions. My favorite organic compost is Moo-Nurf found at . Products containing chemicals have been proven to cause major health problems, not to mention the sterilization of our seeds and killing of our bees. No bees, no pollination.. No pollination, no food. Is your golf course green lawn really worth the risk? Consider throwing out some wild flower seeds or plant a front yard garden, and always buy organic when you can. Moo-Nurf is truly a fabulous product.

4. Buy bulk. Less packaging, cheaper prices and those big glass jars look fabulous in a pantry.

5. Pack your lunch and your water to work. You will save money and save yourself from throwing away all of the packaging that comes with lunch “to go”. I love the idea of packing my lunch bag everyday with something special and homemade, and toting a cute reusable water bottle makes me feel like an Eco rock star. Remember, there is a pile of plastic in the middle of our ocean larger than the state of Texas. Think about that the next time you slip a quick dollar on the counter for a water bottle.

6. Put your $ where your heart is~invest in green companies and hold your favorite brand names to a new level of responsibility. Buying eco friendly cleaning products, or making your own is an easy way to instantly make a personal difference. Don’t support big corporations with your hard earned money if they treat our planet with disrespect.

7. Quit poisoning your own body, and then our water supply, with toxic chemicals that soak into your skin and down the drain. Use Eco friendly body care products such as Pangea, natural cosmetics like Ecco Bella, and organic coconut or Shea butters from your natural grocery store. Almond oil, olive oil, and sesame oil works wonders on skin without the harsh chemical hangover to your liver.

8. Drink clean healthy water. Investing in a water purifier is not only an inexpensive way to get clean water, but also convenient. Science has proven this fact: Intention changes the actual structure of water. Bless your water by thanking it. The best solution of all? Install a whole house water purifier such as G.E.’s Whole House Water Purification System carried at all Home Depot Stores.

*Bonus: Heal yourself of your old wounds, patterns and negativity. Who we are in this world affects others; when we can clear ourselves of our own dysfunction, we’re able to hold more light and more love in our hearts. One by one we wake up and carry the vibration of love out into the world and we all know the true power of love~ xo ~
